FAQ: How Do We Clean water Without Chemicals?
Simple answer: A massive biological filter and nearly constant water circulation.
Long answer: Our NSP's are continually clean & clear, even in the southern states (other systems, not so much!), because we build powerful biological filters right into our natural pools (no extra filter pond needed) and continually circulate water through the filter then up to atmosphere where it collects oxygen.
It is important to understand that a biological filter is not a device or unit that you can "hook up" to any pool or pond. A biological filter at the scale needed to clean a swimming pool or pond is, by necessity, a rather large thing, consisting of several suction tubes (sometimes several hundred feet long) that pull water down through special filter gravel. Biological filters have long been used in home & industrial aquariums, aquaculture and wastewater treatment to clean water of contaminates. We didn't invent biological filters; we just figured out how to make them work for swimming pools and ponds. Using our experience in the zoo & aquarium industry, we adapted that time-honored technique to suit our Natural Swimming Pool/Ponds, then developed formulas and building techniques so we could replicate it over and over again. If you're ready to learn more about natural pools and see the formulas we developed, check out the eBook and online courses available on The Natural Pool Academy! Ready to build? The Natural Pool Academy has construction plans too.
